About Sean Harrison
A former newspaper reporter and magazine writer,
Sean’s no-nonsense style of communications and
positioning has made him a favorite among agency
clients around Arkansas, as well as with
regional and national clients.  He has worked as
a professional communicator for 17 years, the
last 11 specifically in the public relations
field.

Sean earned a BA in journalism from the
University of Arkansas.  After six years in the
newspaper business he re-geared his writing and
editing skills to the public relations
business.  While working in Arkansas’ top
advertising firms as a public relations
specialist, he developed his knowledge of
business communications, marketing, positioning
and client services.  He began working as an
independent consultant in late 2002.

The journalist turned strategist
Sean was a reporter and bureau chief for the
Arkansas Gazette in the 1980s and early 1990s.
After the Gazette closed in 1991, he became the
first Arkansas Capitol bureau chief for the
Donrey Media Group (now Stephens Media). He
later served as special correspondent for The
Dallas Morning News and collaborated in a
special report for the Philadelphia Inquire.  He
began his public relations career with the
University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences,
serving as editor of the university’s award-
winning external magazine, UAMS Journal.  From
there, he took his communications skills to the
world of agency work. He was a PR team leader at
Cranford Johnson Robinson Woods, then vice
president of the FORZA Marketing Group, both in
Little Rock. He was director of marketing for
Northwest Health System based in Springdale,
Ark., before starting his own practice. He has
won industry awards for his feature writing,
editing and public relations program planning
and directing.
